Sports Clinics

Sports clinics will be offered as half-day programs in both June and August. The clinics are open only to Burke's students. 

JUNE

Basketball:
June 15-18, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (4-day camp)
Course Fee: $225 Early Bird ($250 After May 1)

Volleyball:
June 22-26, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Course Fee: $275 Early Bird ($300 After May 1)

Running:
June 22-26,  9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. 
Course Fee: $250 Early Bird ($275 After May 1)

AUGUST

Basketball:
August 3-7, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Course Fee: $275 Early Bird ($300 After May 1)

Volleyball:
August 10-14, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Course Fee: $275 Early Bird ($300 After May 1)

WHO SHOULD SIGN UP?
  • Students who are rising sixth, seventh, and eighth graders.
  • Students who are interested in improving their existing skills and preparing to try out for a team.
  • Students who are interested in trying out for a team in the coming school year and want to develop their skills in preparation.
  • Students who are interested in seeing whether playing on a school team might be right for them.
  • Students who are serious about taking on the challenge of improving themselves.
  • Students who want to get back into the Burke’s community spirit before the school year starts and have a fun and productive experience with their peers.

Clinic Descriptions

Basketball ClinicThe basketball session will cover skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defensive positioning, and movement and game tactics such as pressing, breaking the press, half-court offensive sets and defensive formations, running the break and secondary break, and transitional play.

Volleyball Clinic
The volleyball session will cover skills such as passing, setting, hitting, blocking, and serving, and game tactics such as rotations, switching, tipping, quick set attack, back set attack, and defensive coverage.

Running Clinic: This session will help students build endurance for the fall cross country season. Additionally, we will cover fundamentals, including proper warm-ups and cool-downs, mobility work, drills, and mental training.

Payment

Payment will be collected via Clarity for Burke's students. Cancellations must be received two weeks prior to the start of each camp.

Staff

The Burke’s Summer Sports Clinic will be staffed by many of our regular-season coaches, along with some recent graduates of Burke’s Athletics, who will serve not only as assistant coaches but also as role models for our current athletes.
