Annual Fund

Help us achieve Burke's goals by supporting the 2022-23 Annual Fund!
Last year, our Burke’s community raised a record breaking $2.2 million dollars for the Annual Fund. We also achieved an incredible 99% parent participation, as well 100% participation from our Board of Trustees and our Alumnae Board. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for all of your support last year as our community began to reconnect in person. In the 2022-2023 school year, we continue to build our community with our entire community on campus again. This year we are focusing on the Burke’s experience and making sure our students feel a strong sense of connection to our community.  Our financial goal remains ambitious as we aim to match last year’s efforts and raise $2.2 million dollars. We are also aiming, once again, for 100% parent participation by November Break.

Every year, the Annual Fund delivers nearly 10% of the school’s annual operating budget and supports a wide range of experiences at Burke’s. Among these annually are academic programs, teacher professional development, student financial assistance, and the maintenance of our classrooms and beloved 3.5-acre campus. And this year, the Annual Fund remains essential to our focused efforts around diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

The broad reach of the Annual Fund at this time means that each student, family, and faculty member benefits from the dollars we raise. The Annual Fund continues to make Burke’s accessible to a broader group of families.

As a community, we believe that a diverse group of students in the classroom provides a complete and outstanding education for our girls. Each year, tuition is intentionally set at a level below the actual cost of educating a Burke’s girl, and we ask our community to help bridge this difference with a gift to the Annual Fund. The Bridge per child for the 2022-23 school year is just over $5,500, and we hope families who can contribute this amount or more without will stretch to give generously.

That said, gifts of all sizes are welcome and appreciated! Please donate online to the Annual Fund. For gifts of securities, email Yukiko Meadows, Director of Advancement. To make a pledge, use this online form or email Yukiko Meadows, Director of Advancement.

Our Annual Fund Goal: 100% Parent Participation by November Break!

Burke's parent community has reached 99-100% participation for the last six years. For the 2022-23 school year, our goal is to achieve 100% before November Break. We ask our current families to pledge or donate as soon as possible, which will allow volunteer and staff resources to be shifted to focus on other constituencies and important fundraising efforts in the spring. Most importantly, by contributing early with this timeline, our critical Annual Fund donations can still start working for our 400 students early in the school year when they are so urgently needed.

Burke's Loyalty Society

Donors who contribute to the Annual Fund nine consecutive years or more become members of the Burke's Loyalty Society. Loyalty Society members are the foundation of the Annual Fund and their longtime support is honored and deeply appreciated. Their consistent giving allows Burke’s to maintain its high standard of excellence and ensures that every student will receive the tools necessary to thrive.

For more information about the Loyalty Society membership benefits and to see a list of our 2021-22 Loyals, please visit the Loyalty Society page.
The Annual Fund provides much-needed income to balance the school's operating budget each year. By giving back through the Annual Fund, you made the following possible last year:
  • One in five families receiving financial assistance
  • 43,029 books in the Library
  • 2,000 LED light bulbs for Makery projects
  • 3.5 acres of campus maintained and transformed
  • 45 Burke's students became proud alums
Burke's mission is to educate, encourage and empower girls. Our school combines academic excellence with an appreciation for childhood so that students thrive as learners, develop a strong sense of self, contribute to community, and fulfill their potential, now and throughout life.
