Lower School Picnic

Fall is in the air, bringing with it the sweet sounds of crunching leaves, cool breezes, and best of all, Lower School Picnic!

It was with tremendous joy that Burke’s welcomed our Lower School students, parents, and caregiving adults on campus for our annual Lower School Picnic. The Snake Dance came back with a hiss and a slither, as each person was pulled into the line as it snaked around the field.

The "Boanopstekker," affectionately known as "The Hello Dance,” was also a big hit. It’s a special dance for kindergarten students, where they learn how to say hello in a variety of languages. Hello and Konnichiwa! Hola and Bonjour!
First, second, third, and fourth graders participated in the Virginia Reel line dance, with whoops and shouts of joy and excitement. It was an afternoon to remember, with plenty of fun, smiling faces, and delicious food.
