Substitute Teachers (ON CALL)

Burke's is an independent K-8 gender-inclusive all-girls’ school located on a 3.5-acre campus in San Francisco. Position Description:

Substitute teachers provide classroom support for grades K-8. They must be flexible and willing to take on last-minute duties as needed. Substitute teachers sometimes have sole responsibility for a classroom; sometimes they share the duties with another teacher.

Responsibilities:
  • Actively engage with students in classroom activities
  • Use effective classroom management strategies
  • Implement lesson plans as needed
  • Supervise students at recess and lunch
  • Use technology as needed
  • Maintain the tidiness of the classroom

Requirements
 
Relevant teaching experience working in a school setting
 
Required:
  • TB Test (the school will reimburse any costs)
  • Fingerprinting (the school covers the costs)
 
Benefits
 
The school pays $26.50 per hour with a four (4) hour guarantee any day a substitute works, and hourly after four (4) hours.
