Heather Martinez Quitugua '81
Heather Martinez Quitugua '81 received the Distinguished Alumna award in 2003.
Heather is an attorney in Guam at her own firm, representing companies and individuals in litigation, and also in criminal matters. She previously was the Acting Chief Prosecutor for the Guam Office of the Attorney General. Prior to that, Heather was a Public Defender in California, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, where she was also a member of the CNMI Superior Court Juvenile Justice Task Force. She additionally serves on the board of the Guam Environmental Protection Agency.

Heather has done extensive pro bono and volunteer work, including serving as a member of the City of Oakland Public Ethics Commission; as a board member of Lincoln Families in Oakland, the New York Women’s Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York, Oasis for Girls in San Francisco, and Northern Light School; and as a volunteer Court-Appointed Special Advocate and Educational Surrogate for many children in foster care.
She enjoys water sports and is involved with animal rescue in Guam. Heather received her B.A. from Williams College and her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
