A Warm Opening Assembly

Nothing beats ringing in the new school year with a bit of sun and fun!
Burke’s Opening Assembly began with lots of joy and excitement, with Lower and Upper School students welcoming new kindergarteners with “Sansa Kroma,” a Burke’s-beloved song about welcoming a baby eagle into a village. The song and cheer didn’t stop there – per tradition, the oldest eighth-grader and the youngest first-grader got together to ring in the new school year (and exchange high-fives!), and teachers and staff also formed a “Wisdom Keepers” tunnel for the eighth-grade class. The assembly ended with a call-and-response song, “This Joy,” and a celebratory cheer from the Class of 2024.

A warm welcome to the kindergarten Class of 2032, the Class of 2024 and to all students in between. We are ready for a great year!
