Lower School: Kindergarten

Thank you for your interest in Burke's! Event registrations and applications for the new admissions season will open on September 1.
In the meantime, we are offering Spring Tours for families interested in admission for the 2027-28 school year.
Please note that all applicants to Kindergarten must be age 5 by September 1 of their Kindergarten year.
Application Requirements (Apply, Access Forms and Submit Requirements on Ravenna). Please note: Due dates will be finalized by September 1.
  • Step 1:  Sign Up for a Tour and our Curriculum Preview.
  • Step 2: Submit an Application. Applications are due early January 2027. Families who submit an application by mind-December are guaranteed a Parent/Guardian Interview. If our application fee is a financial burden for your family, please contact admissions@burkes.org to request a fee waiver.
  • Step 3: Schedule a parent interview on Ravenna (interviews can be scheduled once an application is submitted, and can be either in person or via Zoom). We kindly ask that all parents and guardians attend. 
  • Step 4: Submit Admissions Documents (due February 1, 2027) 
    • Confidential School Evaluation Form: Please reach out if you need a due date extension.
    • Immunization Form: Immunization forms may be sent from you or your pediatrician’s office. We accept both digital and hard copies.
  • Step 5: Schedule a Kindergarten Readiness Visit (registration opens in December) - Each Kindergarten applicant will be assessed for Kindergarten readiness through a group visit and one-on-one academic assessment, taking place on Burke's campus on the same day. Kindergarten Readiness Visits take place on various dates in January 2027. Please contact admissions@burkes.org if your child requires unique accommodations.
  •  Step 6: Receive your Decision Mid-March. Admissions decisions will posted on your Ravenna account at 12 p.m.
Families interested in applying for our Collaborative Tuition Program should submit an application by January 31, 2027. If you would like to learn more about our Collaborative Tuition process, we invite you to attend our Collaborative Tuition Workshop in early December.
