Blair Rosenblatt Shane '85

Blair Rosenblatt Shane '85 was the 2020 Distinguished Alumna Award Recipient.

Blair is a marketer and entrepreneurial leader with a long track record of building brands across public, private, and nonprofit organizations. She is currently Partner and Chief Marketing Officer at IVP, a venture capital firm that backs many of today’s fastest-growing technology companies.

Before IVP, Blair served as Partner and Chief Marketing Officer at Sequoia Capital, where she helped shape the firm’s global brand and supported founders as they scaled their companies. Her earlier leadership roles include Associate Dean and Chief Marketing Officer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Chief Marketing Officer at the California Academy of Sciences, and Vice President of Marketing Planning at Charles Schwab. She also held product marketing roles at Questium, Time Dance, and General Mills, where she worked on brands including Total and Yoplait.

Right after graduating from Johns Hopkins with a degree in history, Blair began her career at Franklin Templeton and co-founded Hands On San Francisco, a service organization that continues to thrive today as Hands on Bay Area. She later earned her MBA from Stanford.

Blair lives in the Bay Area with her husband, Rick, and is the proud mom of two.
