Student Uniforms

The Burke's uniform is one of the many traditions that has characterized the student experience for decades. The middy and blue skirt that our Upper Schoolers wear has been the standard uniform at Burke's since 1914 when Burke's was only a high school! The green Burke's plaid jumper is nearly as old as the Lower School itself, having been adopted in 1949. While the grades that have worn each uniform have shifted over the years, the basic uniforms have mostly stayed the same.

Burke's students in both divisions have the option to wear pants and Burke's polo shirts instead of the middy and skirt in Upper School and the plaid jumper in Lower School. We are excited that these new choices give all of our students more ways in which they can comfortably express themselves. After all, there are 400 ways to be a Burke's girl!
