The Family Festival is always a banner event, but this year was different, mainly because for the first time ever the Family Festival was online! The first Burke's Family Festival was held in 1931, and this year Burke's continues a proud tradition of celebrating our students and their families.
Health and safety protocols have limited hands-on group projects this year, but Upper School students were provided with an array of tools to explore, including Scratch, Tynker, Codable, Swift Playgrounds, and other programming sites.
Kaylin Skinner is an EMT with specific, recent training around pandemic coordination who joined Burke’s this year as our full-time Health Aide & Covid-19 Coordinator. She is a team member responsible for managing compliance with the school’s health and safety policy, daily screenings, and testing processes. Kaylin plays a key role as the main liaison to public health officials with respect to our testing results, potential COVID-19 cases, and contact tracing.
Burke's mission is to educate, encourage and empower girls. Our school combines academic excellence with an appreciation for childhood so that students thrive as learners, develop a strong sense of self, contribute to community, and fulfill their potential, now and throughout life.
