A Message from Michele Williams

It is a privilege to welcome you to the Katherine Delmar Burke School. As we enter our 114th year of education, I am honored to lead a school that has been built upon and whose future will be sustained by the purposeful commitment to educate, encourage, and empower girls.

From the moment I stepped on to campus, I knew it was a very special place. You can hear it in the voices of the girls and see it in the enthusiasm they bring to each and every one of their endeavors. It is not an exaggeration to say that in the sounds and actions of the girls the sense of the possible is truly palpable. It is that sense of the possible that we — parents, students, faculty, and staff — will work to define and grow together in the years ahead.

As the eighth Head of School at Burke's, I am proud to be a part of a school that combines academic excellence with an appreciation for childhood. Our girls run, explore, and play while they learn on our beautiful campus, allowing them to experience the natural environment in and out of their classrooms. We want each Burke’s girl to have the self-awareness and confidence to be the best she can be.

Whether you are a first-time visitor, current family, alumna, or prospective parent, I invite you to look around our website to learn more about Burke's. You will find an array of information, from upcoming events to Parents' Association information to kindergarten art galleries. Our website gives a true glimpse of what it means to be a part of this wonderful community.

On behalf of everyone at Burke's, welcome.

Michele Williams
