Kate Juergens

At Burke's, Kate serves on the Advancement Committee. 

Kate Juergens is a seasoned independent school leader with nearly two decades of experience in strategic leadership, enrollment management, curriculum design, and faculty development. She currently serves as Chief Advancement Officer and Assistant Head of School at Cathedral School for Boys, where she leads institutional strategy across enrollment, marketing, and community engagement in close partnership with the Head of School and the Directors of Communications and Development. Throughout her tenure at Cathedral, Kate has held multiple roles, including Kindergarten Teacher, Director of Enrollment Management, Director of Curriculum, and Director of Lower School. Next year, she will step into the role of Interim Head of School, continuing her commitment to mission-driven leadership and organizational sustainability.

Beyond her school-based leadership, Kate has nonprofit board experience. She served as Board Chair of the Bay Area Teacher Training Institute (BATTI), where she guided the organization through a university partnership transition, strengthened governance practices, and led trustee recruitment and onboarding efforts. 
Kate holds a Master’s in Education from the University of the Pacific and earned her undergraduate degree from Bucknell University.

She lives in San Francisco with her family. Her daughter, Lucy, is a proud graduate of Burke’s, Class of 2022.
