Abraham Martinez

At Burke's, Abraham chairs the Equity & Inclusion Committee and serves on the Investment Committee.

Abraham Martinez is the founder of Amara Financial, a boutique, registered investment advisory financial planning advisory firm. He began his professional career in social services assisting individuals with developmental disabilities find meaningful employment in the community. After multiple years of being at the discretion of the government’s budget, he began to look at other career paths. Enjoying assisting others, while also having a hobby of researching what to do with his own finances, led him to the financial planning profession.
 
Prior to Amara Financial, Abraham was a financial planner and chief operating officer at an advisory firm that consistently ranked in the top 1% at their broker-dealer of over 10,000 advisors. Eventually, he assisted it to become its own registered advisory firm as well. Throughout that time, Abraham led the firm’s investment management committee and spread headed its comprehensive planning department. Abraham is a Certified Financial Planner and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Financial Planning Association for the San Francisco Chapter, as well as Peter’s Place Nursery School.
