The first days of fall means it’s time for the Lower School Picnic!
It was with tremendous joy that Burke’s welcomed our Lower School students, parents and caregiving adults back on campus for the Lower School Picnic. A few modifications were made to some of the dances for health and safety, and we brought back last year’s virtual favorite - the Electric Slide!
Our youngest community members started the dances with the "Boanopstekker," affectionately known as "The Hello Dance." And, in honoring our distance protocols, our fourth graders led the classic line dance, "The Electric Slide."(A fan favorite from last year’s virtual picnic!)
Instead of our traditional "Snake Dance, " the entire community ended the picnic with the "Bashana Haba'ah.” Enjoy more photos from the picnic here!
Burke's mission is to educate, encourage and empower girls. Our school combines academic excellence with an appreciation for childhood so that students thrive as learners, develop a strong sense of self, contribute to community, and fulfill their potential, now and throughout life.
